Man Eats: Fog City Creamery

Ok, here’s the scoop. Fog City Creamery probably has the best ice cream flavors and textures I’ve ever had here in Manila. And yes, that includes Häagen Dazs.

Logo could use a little work.

My personal favorites are Sorrento (limoncello, white chocolate, and almonds) and Ferrero Rocher with Nutella Swirl. (Disclaimer: I haven’t tried the Bittersweet Chocolate Orange, which I’m sure will become a favorite as well.)

I heard that one of their top sellers is the Salted Caramel. Honestly, a little too sweet for my taste.

Here’s a rundown of their available flavors:

– Cherry Vanilla
– Ghirardelli Semi Sweet Chocolate
– Salted Caramel
– Ferrero Rocher with Nutella Swirl
– Bittersweet Chocolate Orange
– Honey-Lavender
– Sorrento
– Bourbon Pecan
– Almond Lychee Sherbet
– Butterscotch Pecan (Sugar Free)
– Coconut Vanilla (Paleo Diet approved)
– Coco Vanilla with Extra Bittersweet Ghirardelli Chocolate Bits (Paleo Diet approved)

You can visit their website here for a more detailed description of each of the flavors or like their Facebook page to check out what their churning next.

  1. They don’t make it easy to find them. All I got was a number but it was worth it. I found the Bourbon Pecan a bit too sweet but I really enjoyed the Bittersweet Choco Orange one. I’m gonna try your recos next, MEM!

  2. Have you tried Sebastian’s (Podium, other branches)? They have a flavor that seems right up your alley– Pancakes & Bacon: buttermilk pancake ice cream with candied bacon ( Can’t say how they compare to the other artisanal ice creams (haven’t had Fog City or Carmen’s Best yet), but they certainly have a most inventive flavor selection.
